You can get metal and plastic delta pegs. Rob (the guy who sells them) advised me that the plastic ones are fine for most situations, metal ones if you plan on staying on rocky soil. We bought the plastic ones (99p each I think, and enough to use on all the guys) and they are very robust. I've only used them once, but everyone on here raves about them, so that's good enough for me.

Are Delta pegs plastic? I have metal ones that came with my Gelert tent and I would have thought metal would be better than plastic, is this not the case?
Hi Donna,
It's all down to design. Delta pegs (because of their shape) are balanced and can make use of all of the support that the ground offers, from the deeper firmer soil to the looser top soil. They have a greater surface area which will resist more guy tension. They won't cut through or turn in the soil like thin wire pegs. So even our plastic pegs are better than most metal pegs.

I,ve just come back from a blustery week in Devon and i,ll safely say Deltas are the best the tent felt so secure and the soil was soft and sandy and they stayed in all week
