Congrats on your buy and choice of tent......get it up now for a test pitch and i would definately reccommend carpet although it doesn't have to be outwell carpet.
We have the Georgia XL too with the footprint groundsheet.
When we pitched it, I think that we made the mistake of trying too hard to line the inner up with the footprint groundsheet. We did this as a guide, but I think that it made it a little harder to align.
We too will be going on our first camp, in this tent, in a couple of weeks. This time we will use the footprint as a basic guide only, pitch the tent and then probably adjust the footprint if need be?
Let us know how you get on. We are off to Callow Top in Derbyshire.
we are away this friday in our tent for the first time as well , strange feeling as i am looking forward to it but also dreading putting the tent up incase i make a wally of myself !
------------- just booked our first four camping trips,
highfields , ashbourne , derbyshire.(been and enjoyed it, review posted)
tried to book into callow top ourselves for this weekend but was fully booked so we are staying at a place just up the road from it called highfields , callow top looked good as we had a look around just for future reference as it is only around 30 mins away for us

Felt the same last week with our new Hartford and probably did look a wally!
But once it's up you'll find it's a great tent and next time you go you won't make the same mistakes and you'll only look half a wally
