Has any one tried one of these:
Greenheat Base Camp Cooker
www.simplyhike.co.uk/ProductDetails.aspx?StockID=9372&Affiliate=Froogle

What do people think of them?

How long does it take to boil water etc?

Thanks
Sarah

have tried the green heat fuel in my trangia, but personally i wasn't that impressed although i have kept it as an emergency stand by.

i'm sure someone will be along very soon, to give an opinion on the cooker though.

What weren't you impressed by?
And did you use the converter "thingy" to use it with your trangia?

we carry two green heat cans as backups. They work but are painfully slow to heat things up. My Primus working off a 500g gas can will boil a pan of water in 2.5 - 3.5 mins...with Green Heat you are looking at pushing 10 mins.

I tried one and decided it wasn't worth the bother. It was the slowest cooker I've ever experienced - you might as well put a tea light candle under your kettle! and would be very expensive to run if used as a main cooker. One of the cans would probably be ok as an emergency backup, but it strikes me they are a solution looking for a problem - a trangia burner is a much better bet.

just my 2p

Matt
