We bought it tale end of last year but haven't had the chance to put it up and we're off camping this weekend.

Any owners out there able to put my mind at ease and tell me my wife and I should get this up and running easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy.

Hi

1 - lay inner on ground and peg the two corners of each sleeping area.

2 - slide the colour coded poles through the poles sleeves on the main dome, then the first pole nearest the dome on the sleeping areas then the end poles for the sleeping area.

3 - if you can ask other half to enter the tent and lift the centre of the tent up (  not important how high) then the person on the outside can go around placing the bottom of the poles in the ring and pins which are attatched to the ground sheet.

4 - then repeat for the bedroom poles.

5 - then peg the tent down, not pulling to tight, just so the tent looks neat.

6 - slide the flysheet over the inner and tie onto the frame starting at the higher points.

7 - peg down the flysheet, again if it looks neat youve got it right.

8 - slide the last pole through the pole sleeve on the porch and peg down

9 - guy out tent. Not a hard and fast rule but the guys normally follow the seams on the flysheet.

You can always visit ourselves and we will run through the pitching with you while looking at the show model.

Regards

Hi, if you go onto the vango website.  Think it's vango.co.uk, they have a little demo video which shows you exactly how to put it up, and take it down!

have a look at this link to the vango pitching video for the diablo range

it is well worth watching and it may be worth while downloading it to you pc and then transfering it to your phone so if you get stuck whilst onsite you can sit and watch it as a refresher

We just got the same tent there easy will take you about an hour if your not rushing the video is helpful and it is possable to erect the tent on your own but you need to start with the short pole first

Hi, we've got this tent also, the way Gary describes is exactly how we do ours, we do find it easier to thread poles if  you  join sections just as you thread them rather than  all in advance.

We nearly do it the same as cross camping,

I have tried to watch the demo but it's taking forever to load!!

I go inside and spread out the ground sheet (mainly in the bedrooms) whilst hubby pegs it all once weve put up the inner.

We put the inner porch pole into the fly then pole ends into the ring and pin then each get hold of a bedroom and walk the body of the fly sheet over. Goes over easily this way.

Takes about an hour start to finish

If you can have a practice in the garden, they are quite tricky to put up and be prepared for the air to turn blue a few times...it does get easier though.

Read the instructions and watch the video on the website.....wonder why they chose a windy day to shoot it ??

I've been searching through the forum, as a newbie, trying to find out about size of tents and problems with getting pitches......  as this is the tent I want to buy, can anyone point me in the direction of problems with tent sizes - we want the space (husband is worried about claustrophobia) but also a quiet, peaceful location....   am I setting myself up for problems?

I have never had a problem getting my Diablo onto a pitch. If thats the tent you want then don't worry about pitch size or how to erect it,just go for it and pitching it gets easier the more you do it !

Welcome to the site by the way !

Hi - just a thought, but if one of you really does have a problem with claustrophobia yo may be better with a tent that has taller, wider bedrooms. I am saying this because a friend of mine who is a bit prone to it found herself having panic attacks in their Diablo 600 because the bedroom walls slope in quite steeply. They are now looking at something like a Nebraska or Vermont from Outwell because the bedrooms are full height and square shaped.

They generally did not have problems finding pitches for the Diablo 600, except in the more mountainous areas of Scotland where the site are set up more with little muntaineering tnets in mind. With any tnet you need to look at its overall width and remember that most pitches are about 10mx10m....and you need to allow for the pegging out of guyropes too.
