That looks like a lovely festival!

My packing tips would definitely include not forgetting: wetwipes; alcohol handwash gel; packets of tissues (great to tuck in your pocket for unexpected loo trips and don't get soggy 'cause they're in plastic wrappers); strong bin bags (for sitting on, wrapping wet gear in etc etc); sun cream; waterproofs; torch; towels (in case there are showers); eco-friendly soap . Take layers of clothing, as it'll probably get cold into the evening - lightweight fleeces are my favourite. And don't forget to relax and have fun (silly thing to say, but some people do manage to miss this bit out!).

At Glastonbury, we transported everything from car to camp in rucksacks (and were mightily grateful for that in getting everything out again through thick mud). Of course, what you're going to will probably be far more civilised and not at all muddy, so a rubber-wheeled sacktruck (about £15 from B&Q) and some bungee cord to tie gear to it would be really good.

The one thing I was laughed at for taking in and don't regret at all was the kitchen sink - a small washing up bowl. I used it to have a strip wash every day and stayed fresh and clean for the duration.  I know people with small children took an inflatable paddling pool for the same purpose - in a largish tent, with someone holding a solar shower above, that would be really luxurious.

Thank you for the great tips and ideas. I will defo get some kind of cart to lug the gear to the pitch - although I could sit with a beer gaurding our pitch while hubby does the work!! I have ( I think)  more or less got what we need but being a scatter brain I will probably forget the essential bag!! I am really looking forward to it though and just going to enjoy myself. Thanks again for all your great tips. We will let you know how we get on.

Wow that looks like a top festie- just our kind of thing and great line up too.

You have had so much good advice here that I don't really ahve anything to add. The loos can be variable in quality ( especially if not cleaned out- so by end of weekend-........yuk ) So I always take the trusty bucket with lid, and WAG bags too if I have them to hand.

Try to keep kit minimal and portable -we have a folding trolly thing with bungees for that. Also, cheap head torches all round - it can be a forest of guy rope when picking your way back to the tent in the dark. If you tent is of a very common make/colour/shpae then a flag of other visible emblem outside can help you navigate back to it. Make sure the kids know what to do it they get lost, and don't expect to have any kind of routine.

And then relax and enjoy the unique festival culture that makes Britain great!!
