Those fleecy pjs are great for kids...they even do them for older kids in the Lands end website - really cosy....and hotwater bottles....we take an oil filled radiator and keep it on all night too..we are always as warm as toast!

i bought one of these fleecy sleepsuits on internet for grandson to go away in last week, as you say they are hard to find this time of year. This one was £19.99 for a five to six year old size and was great. he loved the design as well as you can see -

twinkly, here is the link for the one above, you can pick any size colour, pattern, etc, and they will make it for you. Mine came four days after ordering.

http://www.donann.co.uk/index.php

they do them right up to adult size, altho i think you might get a few funny looks in the loo block in the morning.

my toddler wore a vest, thick bed socks and fleecy pj's, she then had a fleece blanket underneath her sleeping bag and one on top of it, she didnt stay in the sleeping bag tho and usually ended up with no covers at all!

my 8mth old had a thick toweling sleepsuit, bed socks, and a baby sleeping bag, covered by a fleece blanket, he was very toasty too,

i will be buying plenty of the fleece suits when they are more readily available, Primark do them for about £4!!

we use the aztec swallow baby and midi sleeping bags for our two (aged 6mths & 18mnths) when we went to cornwall in june and they were lovely and snug, without getting too hot.  We will use these again when we go to cumbria in september.

Look on ebay - usually second hand ones going on there, that is where I got mine from for only a few pound each.  Doesn't matter if they get trashed during use then!

AWW love the pic lorrnev!!

Right I have have found some on ebay ending soon so will try that....

So do you think he would be too hot in vest plus fleece sleepsuit plus 2.5 tog grobag? Obvisouly with grobags he cannot wriggle out if too hot (but that is the beauty of them)?

And yes I honestly honestly do find it cold end of August down in Cornwall at night....usually hubby and I are outside having a drinky then it starts getting dark then the fleeces come out...oh I can't wait!!.....we sleep on airbed with duvet on top and underneath us.....

Just back from camping near new quay wales and our 2 year old just had normal pj's, a pair of socks and a fleece jacket on in her ready bed and she slept through every night well apart from when she rolled out of it! She was fine no probs whatsoever and i just wear pjs with socks and so do my older kids, if they feel really cold then a t-shirt is better than a vest if necessary.
