We've just come back from a week at Conwy Touring Park, North Wales and it was one of the best holidays we've ever had. It was lashing down when we arrived on the Friday and put the tent up, but for the rest of the week it was glorious sunshine. It rained during the night, which we don't mind, and it rained again on our last day. But despite the long-range weather forecast the week before predicting heavy downpours all week, they got it wrong! So don't believe what the weatherman tells you all the time! You just don't know until you get there.

We are off there next week so am glad to hear it is obviously not suffering any waterlogging
Hubby is currently camping at Blue Dolphin, Filey. He phoned to say that a whole load of rain has justed dumped itself on them and that the site is completely waterlogged. Was boggy when he arrived on sunday, now he says the roads are streams and the mud is squelching all around! Still, kids are enjoying themsleves and the tent doesn't leak so all's well!
We are just back after leaving Dorset 2 days early due to the weather. The tent held up well, the site drained well and the kids were pretty good at entertaining themselves - the oldest read the new Harry Potter in a day and a half! What got to us in the end was the mud that trod into the tent despite everyones best efforts, no dry shoes, and everything ending up damp and muddy. When we took the groundsheet up there were loads of big fat slugs just sitting there! It hasn't put us off though -we are already planning our next trips, although I have also been looking at websites featuring TT's and folding/pop-up campers LOL

oh no!
it was talk of slugs that first got me posting on here! yuk.
we have a khyam classicXL with annexe so i can keep the mud out of the bedroom hopefully.. and i will inspect it for slugs on an hourly basis. We are due to go to dorset on monday and i was hoping to be on the clifftop at eweleaze farm but i am a bit worried about the wind... and if we get to the top, pitch the tent then drive off for supplies.. will we be able to get back up there.
we had a stormy 3 days in dorset a couple of weeks ago and snails were climbing up the walls but they were only tiny.
when we were in dorset last, my chair felt a bit damp when i sat down .. although it had been under cover all night. Turned out i had sat on a slug and squashed it!
it was only a tiny weeny one though .. thank goodness
