We have a wynnster ranger king and it is divine....sometimes get it out at home just cos it so lovely to sleep in. Only prob is that you REALLY don't want to get out of it on cold mornings!!!!
recently bought a tesco one on offer for 19 pounds but normally only 24. it's machine washable and really warm inside. checked out the argos pro action one mentioned on offer. was heavier and had 50g per square metre more filling but can only be hand washed! tesco version is rated at 2-3 seasons.
We have a left-hand and a right-hand Eurohike Tourer Classic single bags (£17 each) that we zip together, they're fab! In fact just reading this thread makes me want to get them out now and go for a nap...
My OH also made a liner for them by sewing together 2 large single sheets down one side and the bottom and halfway up the other side. I think she got them from ASDA at about £2 each. That way we can just wash the liners every trip and I find that on warm nights I can throw the top half of the sleeping bag and just use the sheet liner.
We have a double sleeping bag and have used it for our last few trips but i am finding it a bit too restrictive, so for this trip i am taking a double duvet to try out (as well as two single sleeping bags, just in case)
Will report back on the merits/demerits of this decision.
Its bad enough using a double airbed, dont think I couls cope with a double sleeping bag too. Might be good when I need my feet warning, but what about what I am hot and he is cold - hmmm, no, will keep my singles. Do let us know what you think of yours when you get it tho
Me and the OH used to use two singles zipped together, that way both of us had a zip to control access and cooling etc... We have recently bought a ReadyBed Double, but I think it may be a backwards step in some ways. Once I've tried it out properly I will let people know.
I used to take a duvet, OH his mummy-bag.. always said I couldn't sleep in a sleeping bag because I wriggle too much!
We found a coleman chestnut XL - its huge!! about 4 ft wide! and lined with brushed cotton... ahhhhh.
OH was so impressed that he bought one too and we now zip them together, lovely and cosy with loads of room, in fact there is sleeping bag hanging off both sides of the airbed, just like a duvet. fab
We have 2 vango astral 350 XLs - one left anad one right hand zip - so we can have them separate or together (depending on whether we are speaking!!). As a single bag they are huge -110cm across the chest, and have a hood too which is good for cutting out draughts around the head and neck..
As a double they are gigantic and there is a central zip down the middle of the top surface. To be honest they are so warm like this that we rarely close the zip - and if OH is warm and I am feeling the cold there is enough fabric for me to wrap the unzipped end right under me. This way we can each regulate our temperature without disturbing the other one.
