Contact whoever you bought it from - speak to them as it shouldn't happen.

Gosh same happened to me yesterday - first practice in garden before taking it away next week. I got mine from my local Yeomans branch and they appeared shocked. I also explained that it was the silver coded one which was recommended to go through first. I explained that this was proving difficult due to the red one going across it and this is why it broke - the local branches where I live were not familiar with pitching this tent but when I spoke to the main branch they suggested I started at front door end. I also got advise from the Ambleside branch(Mark) and he said to peg out poles before inserting into each eyelet. He also wants to know how I get on with it next week. Please let me know how your pole broke and if it was the same one. I'm waiting to hear from my local Yeomans branch today to see if they can get  me a replacement pole before I go away!

the pole that broke was the black coded pole and it just split down the pole it seemed to happen when we were putting it into the eyelet,I also bought from yeomans (Ilkley)

Pitching tips: get your grounsheet pegged out 1st then peg out the poles and you shouldnt have any other problems  hopefully

I know the pitching instuctions are absolutley   rubbish and I e-mailed coleman about this to maybe get some more detailed ones but nearly 2 weeks down the line still no reply (which I thought was very ignorant seen as I spent a wedge of cash on their product) but once you get going with it it is quite easy so stuff em
