Hi there.  Just back from 3rd camp in new Lokon vario 5.  Unfortunately when we unpacked the tent and erected it we found the front entrance door zip completely broken.  I think the end of the zip at the bottom had just fallen off somewhere and got lost so the zip just kept opening.  After a few careful manouvres we managed to secure the door, which was placed away from the wind. We used the side entrance instead.

I have emailed the company and they have acknowledged my email saying it has been received and will be dealt with shortly.

I just wondered if any one knew what my legal rights are? I have read the companies returns procedures but it doesnt mention faulty goods after the tent has been used, just return policies regarding faults seen on first inspection.  It does say the product is guaranteed for one year, so I am well within that time.

Should I expect an offer of my money back? An offer of repair? Which would be very inconvenient as I want to go camping again very soon.  Or a replacement tent?

The company is campmania.

Another question I have been meaning to ask for ages and havnt got round to is about the bottom seam of the tent.  Should it touch the ground?  This is the seam that goes all around the tent and the mud flaps are below it.

On my tent this seam is about 5 inches off the ground.  This seems too high in my opinion.  I thought at the first camp that it could be due to not being used to the tent and not pitching it properly, but after 3 attempts the gap remains the same. Am I doing something wrong?  Is this normal?

Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.  Thanks. Louise

We had the same problem with our GLV6 reagarding the pitching as we could not get the front of the tent to reach the ground. If you go to search on here and type in Gelert Lokon you will find some good advice regarding the pitching of this tent.
