Ok so I used a kettle 2200w, a heater 2000w with no problems on my EHU, then I tried my toaster (and yes with nothing else switched on) and it tripped everyones electric off, I tried one more time, and tripped everyone off again, before hastily hiding said toaster in the boot!
I have come home and tried it again, and it appears to work fine - any ideas?
Hi Wendy.
It as to be a faulty toaster, Check the plug for a loose connection and also the cable for damage and by wriggling it about while switched on.

Hi wendy, sounds like its time to throw that toaster in the bin!
Do you have an rcd fitted on your fuse box at home? If not it is definatley a faulty toaster and i recommend you don't use it again. unless its part of a set it's cheaper to buy a new one than get that one fixed.
Did you not blow your own RCD on your hook-up first? That's worrying, I'm not very good on electrics but I thought that was part of the point of having your own RCD
^its most likely that yours and the sites RCD are rated the same so its a race to which trips first (proximity to the toaster does not effect it). (presuming it was the RCD that tripped, but it sounds like it).
as has been said if you dont have an RCD at home? otherwise the fault wont get detected whilst at home.
it may be that there was some damp in the toaster that has now dried up, but i would want to be very sure before using it, just beause it works doesnt mean its not faulty.
