Hi everyone! We are off to Tenby at the weekend and have always taken a trailer, but this car does not have a towbar. We have hired a large roofbox and have a Ford Focus. Does anyone know if we will be ok to put the tent( cabanon espace 8) in the roofbox, or should it be something lighter? My Dad is nagging me about packing too much stuff!!

Hi,

Guess you've seen that someone else has asked the same question just after you? Anyway, I just wanted to say have a fantastic time in Tenby. We have just come back from 2 weeks camping at Kiln Park and, dispite our 6 year old dd cutting her foot on day 3 requiring 9 stitches at hospital in Haverfordwest, we had a fabulous time. We LOVE Tenby, for us it is the ideal holiday spot - Fab beaches and Kiln Park is ideally located - we take the bikes and leave the car on the pitch for virtually the whole hol (except for hosp trips this year!) Recommend the seal safari round Caldey Island on a sunny day. Also get down to the harbour on Sunday eve - usually some sort of entertainment going on. We were also lucky enough to hear the Tenby Male Voice Choir do a concert at the harbour - not everyone's cup of tea but it is mine, they were brilliant!

Have fun (but think you should put the tent in the boot!!)

Put all the light stuff in the roofbox and the tent in the boot!

Agree with others, put tent in boot. When we take our big tent, we put the main tent bit in the boot and the poles in the middle of the car on the floor below the back seats to distribute the weight a bit. Thankfully our kids are still of the age where they don't need the leg room
(obviously if you've got adults in the back might be a bit more difficult to do this!)
