Yes, good lord, how could anyone bring themselves to run someone else's tent over?  (I think we can discount an accident!)  Evictions are surely not enough in this situation- more like criminal proceedings!

Is it fair to blame the site?  We've had noise problems twice in our 4 years of camping.  The first was awful, shouting and swearing till all hours, balls hitting the tent at midnight, then a group of teenagers pitched less than a metre from us and sat up all night drinking an laughing.  And I mean all night.  I believe the problem here was the lack of a warden on site.  The second time was on a C&CC site, where a big group were holding prayer meetings at 6am, and sat up late singing gospel tunes!  They had apparently mislead the wardens over their numbers, but it was a very big site, and we were a long way from the wardens, so on our own really.  IMHO  if a site isn't properly supervised then that is a valid comment about that site.  I often camp alone with my children, I should be able to expect the people who are taking my money to deal with any problems!

All the best,
Alison

The noisiest site I have ever stayed on was a C&C or C&CC (I forget) site! Far too crammed with people, sure we weren't 6m away from anyone!

We stayed at henleys farm in towyn about four years ago and it did make me wonder for a bit while we bother pitching in a field with these idiots. It all escalated out of control and ended up with the noisy, irresponsible group setting one of their own tents on fire in the early hours. I would have expected at least for the police to be called for putting everyone in danger, and the fire brigade for their safety, but the owners never even approached or evicted them. We decided to call an end to our trip and head home the following morning. I used to think that these groups were just a very small minority but its not nice when it spoils your trip. Needless to say we have never returned to this site and always do our best to pitch away from groups of young people who look like they like to party till the wee hours, luckily the majority don't behave this way and respect other campers.
