Should I get an EHU or a 12v leisure battery for my family sized tent?

We have gas and petrol stoves for cooking.
So this is really for lighting in the evening and keeping the odd mobile phone charged up.

I like the freedom of a battery but how good are they at keeping charge? Is it likely to run out quickly? After say a weeks camping of using a 12V flourescent for a couple of hours each night?
I guess I could rig something up so that if we're out in the car it could charge it up? Or perhaps get a solar charger?

Any comments / recommendations / ideas welcome.

Battery 85 AmpH

std camping twin tube flourescent light (2x 8 watt) uses 16 W or (16 / 12 = 1.3 amps)

Allow 4 hours < 6 ampH per night.

Battery would last at least 10 nights!

Do you really want to lug around the weight of an 85Ah battery just to power a flu tube ?

I dont have the exact answer but it must be based on a smaller battery which you can charge from the car , and/or LED Lighting.

I'm currently using a 2.8Ah battery and a single 8W flu tube for a weekend just to give about three hours of light and enough to top up the air mattress, then switch to LED to read by. int the tent ,
+ a gas lantern for outside.
