yes , we do , sat mounted on trailer , takes bout 10 mins to get it pointing in the right direction ,
Phewww thats a relief, when you go out for the day when your camping what do you do with yr Dish and box, put them in the tent or stick them in the boot of your car??
without me getting being a technophobic boring get , its a big box trailer dist is mounted in the front and the box is mounted in the trailer , you have to see it to understand ,
I've just bought a satellite in a suitcase from maplins costing £69 and a satellite finder from Lidl at £3.99 I have mounted the dish on an old photo tripod and then anchor it down with 3 tent pegs.
It takes about 5-10 minutes to set up and align and if you want you can either use the supplied receiver with which you can get numerous satellites (only 1 at a time though) or take your sky box and card with you.
As they are starting switching of analogue signal from the end of this year , I went the other way brought a sat dish and lnb for £9.00 of ebay and a folding work light tripod from wicks £24.00 and you get the floodlight as well , sytem works great and picture perfect , plus by using our own sky box get all the channels ,
I've just got back from our first family trip, and i got the maplins satellite case but i had nowhere to put the dish. I was planning on putting it on the car roof with the suckers provided, but that meant taking it off and re-aligning it every time we went out (very annoying!) So i thought about the tripod idea but didn't know which one.
John&lynn - had a look at your tripod, looks rather high how stable is it?
taralabradog - Can you link me to a tripod like yours so i can have look please.
