We always put the bag over the top of the rolled up tent then turn it over and Zip up. This is far easier than doing it the normal way.

Try it, it does work.

Provided that you checked how it was folded when you first opened it out, then it will go back quite easily if you fold it the same way.

Unfortunately many people are so eager to see their new tent up that they don't bother checking.  In that case just work out from the bag size where to fold the tent so that it ends up exactly the same width as the bag length, then fold or roll lengthways until it is the same as the bag width.
