After surviving what seemed like a mini hurricane last Tuesday, conditions around our tent became somewhat of a muddy bog,  packed up today but couldn't help the outer tent covered in mud, the door was plastered in it anyway.  Going to put the tent up at home to give it a good clean, what is the best to get the mud off, good old water or anything stronger????

same situation here,  dont want the tent to rot by next year, any advise would be appreciated.

Brush off as much as you can with a very soft brush when dry. Then hose down with plain water, sponge off any stubborn lumps and dry and brush again. Alternately, just leave it. A bit of dried mud won`t hurt the tent and the next rainstorm will wash it off anyway.

One thing you should wipe off as soon as possible, btw, is bird poo and tree sap. Not good for tents.
