I have a tiny spirit level in my camping kit! (I use it for levelling the trailer tent, and it saves me at least ten minutes of guesswork.) Does that count??????

Shhhh! Don't tell anyone, but I'm thinking about getting one of those folding sinks that hold tooth brushes and cups. But only to stop the kids from spitting in my beer glass when they brush their teeth.

Hi carl.
Yes I have one, it dose not reside in the camping spares but dose come with us on every trip in my car toolbox,
and as come in useful on one occasion a few years ago at Minehead C&C Club site when a warden, they were called wardens in those days, He told me that I was not 3 meters from the perimeter of my pitch so I measured both side of the pitch to show this jobsworth fella that the pitch he had given me was not capable of leaving 3 meters both sides, he backed off gracefully.
And at Slapton this spring there was a very old classic caravan that was been towed by an immaculately preserved white Morris minor and this was garaged under a white Gazebo now this made me smile because My thoughts were, they must really be proud of their setup.
Carl there is not a lot of things these days that are free so if these campers who are different from you make you smile Just be thankful for the free entertainment it is giving you and let them get on enjoying their camping the way they like it who says the way you camp is correct. We people that like the things you poke fun at certainly don't poke fun at the way you camp but it probably as a lot to do with the type of people we are.
No hard feeling Carl, I have my opinions just like you have
Rex

Goodness me, if campers can`t poke a bit of gentle fun at each other, what have we become? Serious??????  How can a bunch of grown ups sitting around in poly bags in a wet field be serious, for Gawd`s sake?

I can cope with folk pointing at my tent or TT and collapsing into a fit of giggles no problem. (Because I know they`re just overawed at the magnificence of my pitching skills, so it must be the Lion Rampant windsock or my mass-murder look-alike Hubby that they`re laughing at. ......... ) Mind you, I am Scottish, and taking the p*** out of one another is not only our other national pastime, it`s compulsory, lol.

Some of us campers have different ways of poking fun and when we get a response like you just did we have succeeded. Personally I never take a post serious if it as in the frame. But to get you to fire up as been well worth the effort

I dunno, Rex, given that Scott`s are the folk that make porridge oats. I on the other hand am a Scot, and it`s well known that we`re the superior race. (Well known amongst Scots, that is..... )

When I was posted to Singapore we had a very very big lad Andy Feran from Glasgow and Andy was famous for the amount of whisky he could consume at a one session when he banged his fist on the table most stepped back or left the naafi and he used to lift the bottle that was near empty and say we scotts are the top of the bottle and never once did anyone disagree with him. .

We people that like the things you poke fun at certainly don't poke fun at the way you camp but it probably as a lot to do with the type of people we are.

Hi Val.
Some of us campers have different ways of poking fun and when we get a response like you just did we have succeeded. Personally I never take a post serious if it as in the frame. But to get you to fire up as been well worth the effort
all the best
Rex
PS cannot get Carl to bite though

I'm a bit too layed back to bite Rex 'h'as you might have noticed.

Hi Carl.
Yes I have noticed, and so is val Ah well we shall have to try again at a later date.
I have now got to go and get the weekend gear together should be able to get it in the car and trailer, save me fitting my new inflatable roof rack. if I pack it carefully
all the best.
Rex.
PS is it true that Scott's are the top of the bottle, just because they look down on the rest of us from up over the border
I haven't got one of those. I am fitting my new trailer extension this afternoon though for our trip to the Peak District. I'll report back on the crackpots I see there when I get back.
