I bought an intex Queen size bed with built in electric pump last April from Ebay. Its now starting deflating in the middle of the night.....Tried desperately but cant seem to find any puncture?? I've given up on it.

We need a decent one now, any ideas????

I will keep watching this thread for any good ideas, have tried the old lilos blue and red still staying up but some of the pockets have come unglued so large pockets of air.  Tried some of the single flock covered airbeds but they either seem to gain punctures of the valves leak, going back to our easy camp backpackers mattresses for next weekend.  They are a pain to inflate as you can't use a pump and there are six chambers in each but they are now 5 years old and have never let us down.

Without a doubt - Coleman Comfort Double.
Has two separate chambers so each side can be inflated and is sooooo comfy.
We've had ours 3 or 4 years and its never let us down yet !!

jada

How old is your Coleman?

I was thinking of getting one but there seem to be a lot of recent reports of leaks with them.

Any kind of guarantee that come's with the Coleman Comfort?

Hi, we bought the Campingaz flock double airbed from Argos. It was fine for about 3 nights then started deflating in the night. We managed to find a hole and patch it up only to find it sprung another leak the same night. We patched this up the next day and guess what...it went flat again. I've read so many links on this site about similar problems that I'm not even going to bother fixing it again. The manufacturers must be laughing all the way to the bank!

I replaced my airbed with a campbed on our last trip (electric pump to re-inflate not nice for other campers at 2am, then 4am, etc).

Trying to convince OH to give up hers too.

The kids have 3 that totaly fill the 2nd bedroom area of our Monty, which we thought was a great idea. But when on a slight slope they all ended up in a pile in one corner every morning, we even lost the 3yo between the airbeds and inner side one night. I'm now going to replace all three with the £9.99 campbeds from Yeomans.

I have the one thats on sale at Argos for £17.00 although I did pay 32 quid for mine in a camp shop in Newquay. But what price a good nights sleep?

Any Coleman airbed that has the patented double closure air valve...they are brilliant.

We use a double height Coleman Queen and as a couple sleeping together in one bed we have the best nights sleep ever...well, in terms of camping

Great thread. I'm after one as well which can withstand the use it will get. All airbeds i've had before ALWAYS get punctured or leak.

I dont want to pay the earth for one though. I looked at the colman doube but heard loads of people have had problems and that kinda put me off. I also want one that uses standard sized holes for the valves so I can use my compression kit int he car to inflate it.

Hi we had an intex queen used it three time it was shocking by about 3am it was like being on a water bed, we took it back and got a full refund, we have purchased a colman double quickbed we took it to conwall a couple of weeks ago it is the best thing we have ever bought it was like sleeping on a proper bed as it is coil sprung it also has the double valve so no need to keep topping up it just stays firm cant wait to use it again this weekend.

I would go for the old red and blue boxed style rubber type every time(you can still buy them at argos) They are really comfy and just feel nicer than the flocked ones which I have found loose air faster as the week goes on than the rubber ones. They also have a pillow shaped end for extra comfort ...if you know someone who has one why not borrow it for a try!
