hi all,

i'm quite new to posting questions, though i use the site for camp site reviews

it gives a great insite to the camps we've never used before

and i've been getting some great tips of the message boards.

I used my sunncamp tourist this weekend for a festival in devon

had a brill time dispite the rain..

sorry i've gone off track, how ever when i put it up we noticed small area's of ?mould on the inner, the fly sheet is ok.

what can i use to treat and remove the stains?????

also can i do it flat as my garden is no where big enough to pitch the tent

i' worried as it slashed it down when we were putting the tent away..

a friend is drying it out for us .. but i love this tent and want to treat it properly

as anyone got any ideas...

thanks for your time

yvonne x

Try using a bar of Vanish soap, I had the same and it worked a treat!

hi

gaurenteed to shift mould. 1 part Milton (baby bottle stirilising liquid) to ten parts water, rub on then rinse off, leave to dry. difficult i know if you can't put your tent up to do this and dry it. but we've just used it and its worked a treat, no more black spots, and we're off camping again next weekend.

Hi yvonne
when you come to draw your pension you will get the feeling again But this time you will think they are on you And I am sure not even undiluted Milton will kill these off.
Sorry to make light of your problem It just the title made me smile when I look at all the liver spots I keep getting
By the way if you search Mould in camping under canvas there are a couple of dozen posts on the subject.
I believe their was a saying about keeping your powder dry but my memory is not what it should be

Hi Yvonne, we used dettox mould and milldew spray, £1.79 from Wilkinsons, you just spray it on and let it dry, it is best to do it with windows open, it is like a strong bleach smell. We did a full trailer tent canvas and awning in spare bedroom. It worked a treat

The MIlton solution mentioned by mandyh works perfectly - you need this to kill the mould spores, and I am not sure that Vanish soap would do that. However, milton did not remove the marks, so perhaps the best thing is to do both - Milton to kill it off and Vanish to remove the stain!

I've got mould spots too but that's just 'cos I'm middle aged now .  The tents fine though.
