Anybody know where I can purchase a nuclear air-bed inflator. I don't want to use up all the non-renewables.

Hi again Nubian
Thank you for the good wishes. But until the theory of global warming and the step up to our carbon footprint bit;
becomes fact then life for me will continue the way it as most of my life.
And what I do for the protection of the environment will be what I have always done.
All the best
Rex

How much proof do you want? To wait until it "becomes a fact" is a grave error. It already is a fact! Years of research and rock solid scientific evidence appears not to satisfy you?

I am of course able to put things into perspective and I accept that you and your wife are not yet public enemy number one but I see no reason why all of us should not be more responsible in our attitude and response to this issue!

Hi again.
I will give you 10/10 for persistence but you are really wasting your time with me. I make up my own mind and take little notice what some so called ECO scientist are fooling the masses with their unproven speculation.
anyway back to camping. Were are you going this weekend.

I think this issue raises a much wider question which has already been discussed on some threads which involves the whole question of whether we should be heating tents at all let alone the cost!

We would do well to remember the environmental cost rather than just the pounds, shillings and pence!

Why stop at tents ? Surely the environmental cost of heating a typical home with 8+ radiators is much more than that of a tent with a single blow heater (if on EHU) ? Surely you would benefit the environment to a much greater extent if you were to campaign that everyone should stop heating their homes ?

If you need heating for whatever reason, old, young or simply want to have it on, then go for it.  The impact on the envornment is minimal from running a small heater to keep you warm.

You should not have to be subjected to having Environmental Issues shoved down your throut just because you like to keep yourself and your family warm on a cold night. Sorry that I did not spot this sooner but I am closing it now.

Cheers  Ratty

This is a totally different argument!

I agree that heating at home should be done sensibly and responsibly with thought given to optimizing efficiency even if only for economic reasons!

Only a fool would argue against heating their home in the middle of winter but even then we are all under a duty to think about it and that's winter! We are talking about this subject in August for goodness sake! (despite the weather at the moment!)

I suppose all the climate change deniers will now claim it's a "matter of choice" or that one shouldn't "tell them what to think"!

Well I suppose that is right but the question remains as to how one exercises free choice or how one thinks. All I say is use a little thought and make informed judgements!

EHUs in tents in August and patio heaters for example? Is this the way forward??????
