....But in a big dome or tunnel you should sleep with your head towards the central area of your tent, and that normally means the zips of your inners.....
Sounds a bit prescriptive, Val? I would have thought it would be personal preference taking into account the slope of the pitch and what's going on around it eg roads, footballs, hedges, neighbours, space ..... MT
Went through all that when I posted at the beginning of this thread, MT. I was referring to this one particular point of safety only in the above.
We started off sleeping with our feet to the zip, with OH on the slopy side and getting a mouthful of nylon tent inner every time he turned over! In the middle of the first night of our second trip we had the revelation it would be sooo much better with head to zip instead! Had not thought of safety aspect, but is good point...
we started feet to zip,but hubby moaned about claustrophobia! so we swapped now head to zip with me in middle and 5 yr old son next to me on his airbed. for some reason he has nightmares when we camp so it is easier for me to comfort him, also i am the lighter sleeper so would be aware of him waking up.
we also sleep the way we sleep in our own bed with me on the right, i couldnt sleep the other side!

Yup, one more essential factor...me on right, Hubby on my left. In fact I think most factors except for the slope of the tent would come after this vital positioning!
We always picth the tent so that our heads are facing up hill. I have tried sleeping both ways in the sleeping pod and I have to say I find my head is much warmer if my feet are against the pod zip. We always keep the pods open so that we are able to get out to the kids in a hurry if we need to!

Thinking about it, in the Guadaloupe it would make more sense to sleep the other way round as the slope of the tent would work better that way.
Same here - and it took us a while too to work out that in the Pyramide 6 (same shape as your Guadeloupe) we'd be better off head to door. Duh. MT
It makes so much more sense! OH struggles with the height of the Guadaloupe but if we slept the other way it would be easier, the slight problem is we'd have to roll the curtain up as OH is too tall for the inner but that's not the end of the world.
