We've just been on our first ever camping trip and we had a lovely time ( 2 adults and 5 kids so didn't know what to expect!) but I have a couple of questions. Have you any tips for putting up the tent (when you've got the poles all in it was really heavy to get up) and when taking down and the tent is flat how on earth do you fold it to get it in the bag? We had to have several goes and it was a real squeeze and took a lot of effort.

I'd really appreciate any advice.

We have a vermont and found the same thing. We found that opening the doors helped a bit.

Hi Izaseth

I dont have the Monty 12 but I have a Monty 6 and tried a different way of pitching instead of the way it tells you on the Outwell video and other instructions.

Try this way its a little bit longer I think but a lot easier or maybe not longer

Pull out tent and peg all four corners

Insert first Roof pole and legs, ring and pin and guy out to keep it upright

Insert second roof pole and legs and then ring and pin

do this until you have all your poles in and then make adjustments and guy out the end one and then peg and guy out the rest of the tent.

I pitch mine with 2 kids and it makes it a lot easier.

As for putting the tent back in the bag - I have yet to find an easy way of doing this - I dont fold my tent length ways I fold wodth ways until its a little smaller than the length of the bag and roll as tightly as I can with kids rolling up and down the tent squeezing the air out as we go, usually fits in but sometimes can be a tight squeeze

Hope this helps

Kitten x

I agree with velvet kitten, excellent instructions.

Thats the way we erect our Monty 12.

It does get quicker the more you do it though.

However, putting it back in the bag never gets easy. Haha.
