At present we have a Vango Diablo 600 and we fancy a change. We are thinking of maybe a tunnel tent, ideally with 2/3 bedrooms and definately want a SIG. Any advice would be greatly appreciated from all you campers out there. We are a family of five so space is the main priority for us, we have enjoyed using the Vango but like I say just fancy something a bit different. Do you think we would be better waiting until the end of the camping season to pick up a bargain? Ideally we would also prefer something with a largish porch area.
Also we want something that is really quite easy to put up, as we have found the Vango takes ages and is inner first so if is raining it gets rather wet.
We have a Montana 6 2007 model for sale. Its done 4 trips out and its great. £300 with carpet, footprint sheet, revoloution kitchen tent and Monty 6 canopy. New would be £500. Its like all like new. We have other camping things available cheap aswell.
Gelert Lokon Vario 5 the best tent ever!! We absolutely love or tent and would only ever change it for an identical model. Loads of space, airy and easy to pitch. The storm flaps tend to flap about a bit but we have solved this by attaching "hold-on" temporary eyelets which kept all drafts out. Fantastic tent and some really good deals around this year (bought ours in 2004).
A tunnel shape is defo far easier to tackle than the big domes. If you don't fancy an outwell then look at the Coleman Columbus 6 - some very nice design features on this range like an excellent rear vent.
Essentially the same tent. Doesnt take up as much space as some of the domes. The Nevada (slightly longer than Monty) has plenty of space for the 5 of us (kids 9,7 and 4), Cant see us needing to change as they get older.
It has a ZIG which is as good as a SIG but you can clean the groundsheet seperatly and its outer pitch first.
Check out the Aztec Falcon 8. We are a family of five and bought this brilliant tent about a month ago and have been out in it four times already. It has a really wide porch and the tent itself has a SIG. The bedrooms are big and you can stand up in them. This tent has loads of windows, pockets and space. We also had a vango before but we wanted a bigger tent with lots of room inside and big bedroom compartments. This tent ticked all the boxs and more. We paid £385, which I think it was deffinatly worth.
