Make sure you get the biggest one you can. We bought a bargain Erde 102 on ebay and promptly sold it as soon as we got back from our weekend away (for a profit ) as it was not anywhere near big enough. I don't the the 142 is that much bigger. We are waiting for people to decide they are giving up camping or over the winter and hope to get another bigger bargain!

Good luck in your search.

We bought a cheapie ebay one for £100. It's just one of those wood-sided ones but it's 4x6 and the sides are a bit higher than the metal ones. We had it completely packed last weekend and am so happy we didn't buy a smaller one. Pulling it is a breeze as you don't even feel it. We pull ours with a Fiat Multipla.

I think they're great to have, we use the trailer as a staging area for the tent poles and we never have to lift the heavy bag. We also lay the poles across the trailer so you only have to bend over when erecting the tent.

And the best thing we discovered is how useful it is when having to pack up in rain. We take the groundsheet up from our porch and push the trailer right inside the tent and load it up. No more wet gear or people. The only thing wet is the tent and poles.

Love our trailer and wouldn't go without it.

we have an erde 102 and it isnt really big enough when we go away considering most of the time its just 2 of us and we have the dog in the boot of our car in her dog basket so that pretty much takes that up for space and we fill the back seats up and we have a scenic so you can imagine it isnt a small car and we only go away for the weekend.  We got ours from halfords.

You just dont realise how much stuff you take away with you, and we started off with a smaller tent earlier on in the year and was using a ford ka and the dog took the boot up and i just dont realise how we managed a few weekends in that with the lad as well lol

Hello there. Well we use a trailer, its the Erde 122 with abs hardtop and a roobox on top. We also fitted the add-on suspension dampers too. Great trailer, I tow it with my 4ltr jeep and don't even know its there. We have also just bought the Outwell Vermont L. Great tent too as the obove post says quite heavy to lug about, not a problem with the trailer though...

If you want to be extreme (and slightly mad) you could do what I did.

Buy a second hand caravan for £50, cut it down to the chassis and build your own custom made 7 x 4 braked camping trailer. All for £230.

I did have to learn how to weld first though!
