For the first time, little tawny (8) and I are going away on our own this weekend. OH has to work, we are taking my sisters little monodome tent and can't wait.
I have promised her, that if we have a great time I will buy a little tent just for us for when OH has to work. She has said she wants this one guess you wont miss us on a campsite if we get it!
You will be fine , Im doing that shortly with my 6 year old ibve done it a few times before though, fFarst was daunting a bit , as a heavy sleeper I was worried in case she got up and wandrerd off or something lol , but think I spent the first night catnapping .
Just bought a Quechua 3 Second Air today and will be taking my 3 year old daughter away for the weekend just to try it out as OH will be visiting her parents.
Already pitched it in garden, amazingingly roomy and packed it away and back in its bag in about 1 minute! Highly impressed..
I'm sure my daughter would love that pink one as well tawny, hope you have a great time.

i have just done this with my 5 yr old and we had a great time. Didnt go far from home so hubby helped me pitch then went home. When it came to packing up it was blowing a gale and i couldn't fold the tent so i just folded it roughly and threw it in the car!!
You'll have a lovely time. Have been away on my own with the 2 girls once, and plan to do it again in a couple of weeks. So much nicer than being home on your own with the kids. We have a tents that's just for 'the girls', although it's not a lovely pink one.
The only thing I would say, if you do decide to buy your own small tent, is that if you did ever decide to go away with your OH you will probably have trouble convincing him to stay in the little pink Vango Haha - I see from your details that you already have a couple of others so might not be that much of an issue??
I went away with m 18 month old the other weekend alone! That was an experience but I loved every minute of it! We had so much fun, though it was an apsolute nightmare putting the tent up and taking it down!?!
Well, we had a lovely time, stayed at the CCC site at Chipping Norton, I am very pleased that we got on so well and without electric too! Now we just need to buy the pink tent. Daughter thought it was brilliant having mummy all to herself!
