Dawn & Dave, how much "stuff" do you manage to pack into your TT? I always wonder if there places that you can pack kit or if you have to carry "stuff" separately?
Good grief loads !!!
in our TT we have 4 chairs, 1 table ( consentina type) gas bottle, poles for the awning, the step, the wardrobe for our clothes which goes into a flat bag.we put 2 sleeping bags on the bed before we fold up and the other 2 when we fold down on top also on top is the ground sheet and 2 wind breaks and if needed the girls body boards, The kitchen part is on the back where the number plate isand all plates and stuff is in there.on top of the kitchen we have the spare wheel and 2 water buts.
The cover for our TT was made bigger so we can add more stuff on.
When i get it out again i will take pictures but it wont be until middle of sept.
Hi, we have a cabanon Antigua frame tent and a stratos TT which we only bought in the spring. We kept the tent as an alternative but there is no competion. The TT wins hands down and has allowed us to take even more luxury items. Our V70 was as full as with the tent but we we will now will never go back because the stratos can if need be be pitched by a single person. We will be selling the tent at some suitable date in the future.
We can do overnight stops very easy as the sleeping quarters can be put up in minutes.
As for the drying, a large tent or TT both pose the same problems
We have done the lot....... caravans, static caravans, trailer tents, tents and do you know which we prefer.....the tent, without any question. We have an Outwell Bearlake 6 and I can honestly say that this tent will withstand the most horrible conditions. It hardly flutters in the highest of winds and is totally waterproof.
I was talking to a manager of a branch of Millets about Outwell, and the only thing he has ever had to return to Outwells was a set of poles that were a bit damaged. Now that must be a good plus point for Outwell. Millets must sell many, many Outwells, so do not give up on Outwell. Their tents are brilliant. Ours has got a 5000 HH and is made of polycotton so there is no condensation problem.Every manufacturer has some production problems at one time or another, and Outwell are no different. I think that it has become a bit of fun for some folk just to have a poke at Outwell. If you fancy an Outwell, then jolly well go for it....it will be worth it!
i also think outwell make great tents, have just sold mine to finance part of trailer tent and it has never leaked. my buyer got a bargain and emailed to say he is delighted with it.
have read all your replies and we have come to some sort of conclusion that it will have to be a frame tent as realistically thats all we can afford. We have to buy a trailer too so we are looking at 2nd hand frame tent (so John let me know if you decide to sell yours) we have seen a nice sunncamp one online new in the sale for £300 and have seen a fantastic sunncamp one for £530. Its fantastic its got a seperate area for toilet, wardrobe and kitchen. We do love our Outwell tents but we seem to be a ble to get so much more for our money with a sunncamp tent.
