Hi all, I have been reading some of the messages and used the camp site search to find a site for the bank holiday weekend.

Had my first camping trip over the bank holiday weekend with 3 children, youngest being 8 weeks old! Got a few funny looks but baby loved it, slept all night. Trip made a lot easier by the lovely site owner.

Had such a good time, that we went to Eskdale on Tuesday, just got back, and pleased to say managed to stay dry despite torrential rain on Thursday night.

OK, daft question. How do we dry to the tent? Do we literally have to lay it out again?

Hi and welcome, you need to get the air around it, either hang it over the washing line, drap it over the bannister or over the top of some chairs !  not a fun or easy job unfortunately but hopefully the good times you have will make up for it!

We draped ours over the car on the drive. Dried in no time at all.

You could always re-pitch it if your garden is big enough. We pitch ours in the garage, so we know it won't get wet if it rains, and has plenty of time to dry out.

In our previous house we spread the canavs out across the floor in the loft (the loft was fortunately boarded and clean).

It is very important to dry it- however you do it- otherwise the dreaded mildew will attack....I have no space outside and no garage so we have no option but to spread it out in the spare bedroom. I just keep re-arranging it over a couple of days to ensure there are no sneaky pockets of damp left in there.
