I am sure you are right, but I need to explain that to the man! He seems to think he doesn't need instructions. I think the answer may be to go camping with some experienced friends next time, so we can get to grips with the stoves with someone watching over us. It is that or live of BBQ food, not sure that will work for cups of tea though!

Cheers

for our first camping trip we bought a campingaz stove for kettle etc, and a stack of disposable BBQ's to cook on.  you just can't beat a BBQed breakfast - not so good for fried eggs though, as they fall through the gaps in the grill!

According to my sister you can boil a kettle on  bbq.  Her and her OH camped with us earlier in the year and bought a full on gas BBQ that had to be taken apart to go in the car.  Apparently they boil the kettle, scamble eggs, heat beans and everything on it when they camp.    I don't think it would work with charcoal ones though,  it would take ages for a quick cuppa.

The amusing thing was they have a small 2 man tent so the bbq was about the same size as the tent.
