We have used the khyam sun canopy with a khyam ontario 8. The canopy was great for extra space- I cooked under it and the cooker could be left outside all the time, It also meant somewhere dry to stand when entering tent when raining and rain did not pour into the side of the tent.

The canopy is not directly attached to the tent but goes over the tent and is pegged at the other side.

Only down side is that the first canopy we bought had holes in it (as did the tent) and we had to exchange them. Not had a chance to use the replacement but looks OK this time.

i am a bit confused

we have a 'classic' which we use with the screen canopy.. and the annexe.

we love both of them. The only trouble with the screen canopy (unlike the annexe) is that it doesn't go over the tent and there is a gap between the canopy and the tent .. so the rain got in if we left the tent 'door' open.
