cant answer that for the people that use the big domes or tunnels in winter ,but i use a 5man dome or a two man,and to be honest if they are wet i dont pack them away in the bag,i just fold them up stick it in the back of the car till i get home and if its a nice day hang the tent out to dry ,but if it is raining i spread the flysheet out up in our bedroom drape it over my camping chairs as long you can get air into it ,keep turning the flysheet till its dry,and if the weather turns nice ,hang it out to dry

Hi posh Camp, we will be camping Oct half term with no EHU, what we do have is a lovely open fire for all to gather around, keeps you warm and makes you socialable as this usually involves a drink.
Use the site search for 'sites that allow campfires'. If you use airbeds make sure you have enough layers underneath your body, the air in the beds gets v cold.
We have a little gas fire that we also use in the tent if it's raining, again helps to make it cosy.
Our 1st camp is April(or easter) and our last is Oct, usually weather ok daytime but cold of an evening.
OH AND NEARLY FORGOT HOTWATER BOTTLES
