Aidy,
Appricate it might be grim up north but trust me summer was awful.
We got flooded out twice and at several points there was so much water under the tent, that if you poked groundsheet it rippled like a puddle with stone ebing thrown in to it. I also ended up with an infected foot( type of athletes foot), where my feet were almost constantly wet. Rained for over 7 days of the nine we were there. And the smell from stagnant water was AWFUL. But we couldn't lift groundsheet and let water escape as there was no where for it to go.
Was almost put off camping for life!!!!
Have been to Blackpool in severe storm and survived am sure we'll survive whatever the weather throws at us......... just wnat one calm day so we can take kids into the Tower and ride in the lift to the top. Kids not done that yet. Last yr we planned it, but put it off till later in week, and the lift was always closed due to high wind, still I suppose if you holiday in Oct these things will happen!!!
