I've not been on here for a while but wanted to say what great customer service we have had from C&CC. We had booked a stay at one of their sites for the end of August as non-members and had paid a deposit ages ago. The month before, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and the trip had to be cancelled whilst I ended up in hospital instead. Anyway, after advice on here, I wrote to the C&CC and they sent me a lovely letter wishing me well and happily refunding the deposit. Obviously, they were under no obligation at all to do this. I was very impresssed and will definitely be joining as a member next year when we will hopefully be resuming camping.
Shortly after our planned trip, we were also due to stay overnight at a posh hotel where my brother was getting married (and he was spending thousands there in the process). Would they refund a £30 deposit to the groom's sister (knowing the circumstances)? Er, no. And quite rude about it as well.
So, hurrah for C&CC customer service - very impressed at them not taking the legal line on it, like the hotel did.
Next year, I'll be back (with a vengeance) - anyone want to help us put a tent up?!! One month after surgery, I can't even lift a basket of washing or stack the dishwasher so dh might be trying to master the art of putting up an 8 man tunnel tent with the help of a 4 yr old and a 7 yr old! But... I will not be defeated. See ya next year!
