Hi folks,

I see Argos are selling camp beds reduced from 19.99 to 14.99. Has anyone got any of these and if so are they ok? Thinking of bagging a couple! If link doesn't work product code is: 340/8427

Kind regards,

Keith

A friend of mine has them.

Theres an art to putting in the last bit of aluminum at the end but the do look comfy.

You need to think about insulation tho. There will be cold air underneath so you might want to think about roll up mats as well.

Great if your joints ache like mine as its not so much of a problem "getting out of bed" in the morning. haha

There was a thread about these and other Argos beds in the sale the other day (can't find the thread now) but someone did say the aluminium legs had bent easily........... I know it's not much help without a link to the thread but I'm sure someone will produce it soon

It was me who said the aluminium one's bent but these appear to be steel so should be stronger. Ours bent because my daughter sat watching DVD slap bang in the middle so all the weight was in one place.

This is an Argos bed but a little upmarket from the aforesaid bed. It's eBay and BNIB. If you have the space to carry them I would go for this.

Hi Keith

It was me that started the other thread about Argos campbeds that are mentioned here.  We've just collected 4 of the ones you're talking about and all of us (from 4 yrs old to 40) have tested and approved them tonight.  Like most campbeds, I can't see them withstanding kids launching themselves at them or anyone sitting in one place for any length of time but they're very comfortable and only take about a minute to put up.

I haven't a clue how long these ones will last but they look fine to me.  Worth buying I'd say.

Thanks everyone for your helpful comments.

Picking them up today, more stock for the camping cupboard. 5 year old son has said he wants one as well so it's 3 I'll be lugging home now!!!

Kind regards,

Keith

Even though they bent there are more comfortable than the airbeds I find but that may just be my opinion. We may get 2 more to replace the broken ones eventually but not at the moment as we have packed away for the winter.

Hi All

We have used these campbeds for the last two years, they have been very good. We do put a carry mat on top to give extra comfort and insulation . Unlike an airbed, being off the ground gives storage space under the bed which is useful. At this lower price I'm tempted to buy some more.

Hi all,

Got the camp beds, very pleased with them for the price. Only complaint, 1 had to go back for replacement as it was damaged!

Can't wait to try out next year

Keith
