Glas to see they are kepping this up.

We had a vango 3 man tent that was bought for a last minute camping trip to see the Eclipse in '99. When we got there we were a pole missing. Luckily the weather was fairly kind and it was a porch pole so we got away without it. Came back, went to shop we bought it from, they didn't have a spare in stock but rang Vango and a new arrived within a couple of days.

I have 2 vango sleeping bags and one has a tear in the stitching on the outside. Not an easy place to get one. Anyway, so I emailed Vango sometime in October and it took a week before I got a reply and was told to take it back to the store where I bought it. I just recently found my reciept and don't even know if it's too late.

Wasn't really happy with that response so I don't think their care is all that great.

I disagre with this comment, if an item is faulty, then it is the responsability of the retailer who sold it to you to either refund or replace a full product, everyone else who has had help from vango is generally for spares they they may well have around the office and are a quick thing to send.

Vango are correct in sending you away as it is the retailer who has your money, or a full replacement product for you.

Disagree all you want, my sleeping bag has the same guarantee as tent poles. I've read of super fast replies and shipping. It actually took over a week before I got a reply. That's not good service.

I think this could have been handled more quickly as this was well past the busy season. Don't get me wrong, I still like Vango and their products, I'm just not happy with how this was handled. I can go to my retailer, but Vango may end up having to inspect it anyway. I don't have easy access to get to my retailer at the moment.

But if the retailer is the one to deal with about the faulty sleeping bags then surely the same applies to faulty tents??? After all it is the retailer who has your money when you buy a tent also.

absoulutly, it has always been that the person you paid for the goods has the responsibilty to solve any faulty issues you have [trade description act], as they have your money and gurantee. NOT the manufacturer.

Having said that as above if vango have a spare pole, or set of tent repair kits, or those little things around the office to replace broken poles or gulines, then of course they are proberbly going to help and not send you away.

When it comes to involving a full replacement product or refund, now that is completley down to the retailer, and all manufactures work like this by sending you that direction. as they do not have your money.

as for the sleeping bags, yes you have to got to go toretailer, they have to solve the issue with no expense to yourself, i.e post them back and get reimbursed for it

We had one of the TBS straps come away on our Vango Vancouver 800 easter weekend it was only the fifth time the tent had been used and it was a bit windy,I rang Vango up they told me to take it back to the retailer and they would send it back to vango to be inspected,5 days later retailer rings up to say that i could go an pick a new tent up as vango had scrapped the other one.I have still got the old poles and sleeping pods from my old tent, so now i have got spares for my new tent. All in all VANGO ARE FOR US
