It was very reassuring last season to have Delta pegs as part of our gear. The year before we had 3 bad weekends when we had to pack up and come home because of high winds. We had 1 weekend last year which was just as windy as the year before but the Delta pegs were brilliant , never moved an inch. Best bit of gear we bought last year. Looking forward to this season with confidence

I cracked 2 of my delta's at Akebar last September, must of been hitting them to hard lol
You could have been hitting them at the wrong angle, or as you say, too hard. Sometimes the ground will contain lumps of rock, old miners' helmets or shopping trollies. The trick is not to keep hammering when you meet resistance.

Hi All another newbe here we just started camping first time last september, we have metal pegs but I keep reading about the delta ones, sorry if this sounds thick but do you use the deltas just for the guys or can you use them all over, very confused as to what type of pegs I use where on my tent. Any advice be great. We are next camping end of March (brave I know)

I use mine for the Guy's as there miles better than the metal ones, and I the normal metal pegs for everywhere else. HTH..

Hi pilsburys112, Delta pegs are only intended for the main supporting guys of your tent.

I have to say that I think delta pegs are the best pegs I have ever used, I bought 4 and won 8 and if high wings are forcast I know that with my delta's in place my awning is going nowhere.
Cheers Als, awnings have such a large surface area. It's good to know that such a small piece of kit can be so effective.

Rob, any chance of inventing some that will go into hardstanding for us winter caravanners? Ordinary rock pegs pull out so easily if it's windy. I've ruined a brand new canopy this year and put a hole in my awning where the wind whipped one out and threw it through the canvas like a dart.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
Hi Caz, I will certainly give it some thought. It may involve more than one part but does not have to be complicated.

We have both types of Delta pegs and I highly recommend the steel ones; I prefer them beause they are more compact and so easier to pack together, super-strong, easy to use and are incredibly neat (no more tripping over pegs or stubbing your toes on them!).
Just make sure you attach the guys at the proper angle (and never two guys to one peg) and you can basically forget about them - I've never known a metal Delta to move, in any weather (and we were camping in ongoing gale force winds, last May!).
Thanks all, Next question wheres the best place to get them on line? or any where near Stansted Herts? Also I just have the normal metal pegs for else where are ther any better ones I should be getting..
Thanks a lot Liddenham. Best place to get Delta pegs pilsburys112 is probably from our own trusty site. We also have stainless steel traditional pegs which are a lot tougher.
