Going from 8th August till 26th, costs so far,
Ferry to Zeebrugge £220
Stopover France £13.00
Spanish site 8 nights £350
Spanish site ( 2 ) 4 nights £110
Ferry back £545
Four nights CC site £84
Fuel £250-300
So including tolls, and no spends, up to £1600 already, but ain,t that what we work for, no doubt some surfers might think we,re mad, but we,ll see more, do more and blooming well enjoy it.
So Bill the Bus there you go , wished sometimes shopped at Tescos to get them point thingys for the ferry discounts though.

But then I,ve got nearley 300 mile trip down, 5/6 hour drive if I,m lucky, used to trot down to London on the shopfitting game, seen it all, once stood 2hours on M25 on a Friday, no, a 60 mile run to Hull, saving fuel, stress, bit of a cruise -twice- makes the holiday. When back in Blighty Longleat and Warwick races, the races are on whilst we,re there, might win me holiday money !

I recently asked the question as too how much it would cost to do this late August but after much searching have bottled it and we are stopping in blighty. Have never done it before and with 2 teen girls in tow think it would be just that bit to stressful. So good luck.
If it's of interest to you, we spent £1200 in total for two and a half weeks in France last summer (11-28 August). That was for two adults in a tent (and not towing anything).
I haven't got the detailed breakdown in front of me, but that total includes, petrol, tolls, Dover-Calais ferry, campsites, insurance, maps, guidebooks, days out, food, drinks. In short, absolutely everything we spent. Certainly the campsites and spending money would cost more with children but that surely wouldn't be must worse than it is in the UK?
We took out annual travel and breakdown insurance too, so that our upcoming 3 weeks in Italy this summer (booked since the ferry timetables first came out) is covered as well. Bargainous.
Now all I need to do I find me a new tent between now and then!
