We just bought the new Vango Sumatra 600 polycotton. It's a sample tent but comes with the same warranty and from what I have read on here, Vango has great service. We got it for 199 and I can't wait to see it.
Now I can finally add a name to our equipment. It's been blank since we had to send our Vermont back. Now all we have to do is pick our replacement tent.
I feel all giddy and excited now. We're going to try and go away for a short weekend on March 22, it's our 5th wedding anniversary and school holiday, so perfect timing. We're just going somewhere in Derby and hope the weather is good.
We did get our Sumatra and have ordered the carpet and footprint. Hoping that it will help to keep the light color of the tent clean. Ours is a sample tent and due to it missing a hook (no big deal) we ended up paying a total of 175 for the tent so a great deal!
We test pitched it in the dark but from what we got to admire it is very nice. The ground sheet is much thicker from a standard tent's and it has plenty of windows including 2 skylights. The bedroom is permanentaly fixed to the inside although you can remove it from the top of the tent (strange). There is a divider for the bedroom that connects with toggles. We really like it and the fabric feels very nice. The living area is spacious and very light and airy.
We'll be sure to post a review on the tent when we use it for Easter.
all this talk of the Sumatra has got me going been trying to convince OH to go for it for weekend tent. unfortunately he won't have any of it after forking out fo the Wolf Lake (am sure will get my own way eventually). It does look a very nice tent & Camping magazine certainly sings its praises (review on their website if you haven't yet seen it).
We too were eyeing up the Cabanons this week at Don Valley Sports Centre which is just down the road from us. In the summer they have loads of tents pitched outside but unfortunately a bit too early for that. We had to make do with the few they have inside. Still had a few Cabanon trailer tents & also the Biscaya on display - lovely!!!! I just wish I could afford one.
My hubby would be the same way......unless it was an electronic (if you read this, you know I love ya babe!)
We have actually decided to get the Bear Lake 6 for our replacement. We love the look of the Wolf Lake but just worry about the size for us. And as much as we love the Vermont XL (almost as big as the Wolf Lake), we have been given an opportunity to replace our tent and we won't have that chance again so we really have to choose wisely for us.
Still want to hear back about how the Wolf Lake goes for you, I'm excited for you!
Outdoor Action sells sample tents and that basically means that there is nothing wrong with them and they come with the Vango lifetime warranty as well.
The price for the sample on the Sumatra was £199 but then we got a refund of £25 because a toggle hook was missing. I thought it was a steal at 199 and now even better at 175!
I had a look last night and it looks like all the Vango sample tents are gone now.
