Camping is a great stress buster for us( once the tent is up lol )! I love sitting out at night just watching for shooting stars and seeing who can spot the most satelites! The kids are so much more relaxed too which is nice to see.

What do we like about camping?  Blimey, the list is endless.

1. Everything already posted above

2. Waking to the smell of bacon/breakfast

3. Meeting similarly minded lunatics

4. Going out for meals and coming back to a fridge of cold beer (fridge? for food?? Nooo!)

5.  Catching people weeing outside during the night

6.  Watching the kids run around in safety

7.  Watching people argueing while they 'get it up'

8.  Hearing them get it up during the night - yes really!!!!!

9.  Waterpistol fights

10. Seeing new places

11. Sleeping.....never sleep so well as when I'm camping

12. My snoring being the subject or conversation after the first night

13. Listening in and chuckling away at deep conversations on blow up beds and the likes

13a.  Having the p*ss taken out of you by your other half coz you can't help but add your two penneth (see 13 above)

14. Watching people

15. Waking up to one of my lads feet stuck in my ear

16. Wandering round sites looking at the things folk bring with them... most unusual so far is a 6ft screen and projector.  Great!

17. Walking up and down the the shower block umpteen times hoping to actually get one... then being smelly for a day when you can't!

18.  The whole process of getting ready and packing everything in the trailer and setting off

19.  Hearing laughter

20.  The thousands of other things I havent got time to add!

21.  Oh yes.... getting excited now at the thought of buying a new tent this season! (see my entry....new season new tent and chip in please)

no tv. thats what i like.  early nights when the batteries in the lamps run out. talking to the people in the tents near you, making new friends even if its just for  a few days. daughter making new friends, the sense of everyone looking out for each other, daughter thinking doing the washing up is an adventure, the freedom she has cos we go to small sites, need i go on?

as i'm quite new to this the one thing i have noticed is that you seem to get a bit of a tan while camping even if its not ever so sunny, or maybe its light rust

Hi
Camping under canvas is just a wonderfull way of life to me. It brings back childhood memorys to see youg children been free to run around unsupervised and free to express themselves the way we did as children.
Rex.
