Really sorry to hear about your loss, Ruth.
I can't stress the positives of being able to drive too highly - it will make a huge difference to your life.
I've camped on my own many times, and found that most modern dome-type tents can be put up single handed, and you could get one of the kids to hold the pole you've just fixed while you do the opposite corner. I've also found that campers are very willing to offer a hand if they see you struggling, and have done so myself many times.
Please don't be put off "going it alone". I think the kids would probably like the responsibility of helping, too
