This is a cheap way to get out there - I had one as a weekend tent a couple of years ago - was OK for the money, since sold it on Ebay and didn't lose much, so it is a no-brainer from that point of view - ours stood up to some light rain ok ... depends on your budget but you might be better with Go Outdoors offer of a Wynster tent... that does seem cheap...

1000 HH is standard for the British Army...not heard of any drowned squaddies yet.

I used a Gelert with 1500 HH and it survived Cornish monsoons.

A friend of ours got one of these (no, I did not know in advance!!) and  Hubby went to give him a hand during a practice run. Hubby said it was "A bit pish" and he could have done better. Later I got to see the sleeping bags and they were definately a bit "pish" too...thin and poor quality.

For £100? Hmm...no, not even then. This is disposable camping kit as in you'll use it once and then either never go camping again because you were so cold and cramped, or you'll go out and buy a better tent and bags anyway.

Hi, we bought one of these last year as a cheap way to try camping. Stood up to lashing rain in september with no problem but we found the tent very drafty as no matter what we did we had a 3" gap between tent and ground. Have upgraded to outwell this year so previous comment about "throw away" kit is right although we do think the Halford tent would be ideal for a really hot weekend (if we ever get another one!!)

We bought one of these last year and went away 3 times without any major issues.............

We did have the same problem with a 3" gap around the bottom..........

The sleeping bags are a bit on the thin side however they do zip together so all was not lost........

The package did for us what it said on the tin and i only bought it because my wife was reluctant to go camping and as luck would have it she loved it and we have now upgraded to a hopefully better tent for this year...........

Kind regards

tony

My Auntie bought one of these last year and it was very leaky and the zip broke, but they still enjoyed it and have since bought a better tent so it didnt put them off, but they wish they had just bought their Darwen first. But then if they hadnt liked it they would have been out alot more money.
