I replied to you're similar thread on the trailer tent/folding camper forum, as below.
I think the groundsheet is polyethene. Tenacious tape (or Duck tape - cheaper but not so neat) will stick OK.
If you are considering repairing it I would suggest you pitch the tent and check it has no other faults/leaks before doing anything else.
Of course only you can decide if the fault warrants returning the tent or not. It could be repaired with 'Tenacious tape', a clear waterproof repair tape.
