We've just tried to put up our new Georgia L in the garden, and although relatively easy to put up, we seem to have about a 3 or 4 inch gap between the bottom of the flysheet and the ground - is this normal for SIG tent. Our last tent didn't have a SIG and so the fly sheet went right to the ground.
Have we pitched it wrongly?

Hi Suewinnie,
I have a Montana 6 with the SIG, and I to have a gap all the way round. To be honest, all I do is go on the Outwell website, click on my tent, and it give's you a video of how to put it up. You may have done this already, but if not, I found it a great help. The other thing as well, when we put our tent up for the first time in the garden, we has trouble getting the poles into the pins, because the fabric was new , but after a couple of camping trips, it became easier. Hope this helps little.
------------- If only I could camp all year round!

Many thanks - we've had a look at the outwell site and seem to have pitched it OK. As you say though, as its new the fabric is quite creased up and so may stretch out a bit.

hiya suewinnie,we have the same tent and yes on the first time pitching my oh was tearing his hair out the trick is to tighten all the straps but yes you dop have a little gap i think thats the idea but after a few pittches when the fabric has breathed it gets perfect and sits snug on floor peg down all the skirts on campsites this helps.
but hey you got the best tent outthere go you its great get the canopy now we have it but not pitched it up.

hiya suewinnie,
last week i was up at caseys and the lady was cutting out the windows on some of the new display tents by outwell now it was not the georgia as they only have 2007 model up but it was a few different ones she noticed on some of the windows were tiny almost like slash marks in the plastic she cut them all out and was sending them back to outwell.
worth a mention if caseys now about im sure outdoor action do.
anyway is yours the 2008 model?if so can you post a pick of the inner tent doors as im curious to see how the new kids rooms attach.

WE had a gap on first pitch of our Georgia XL, which did settle once you have adjusted the straps at the bottom a couple of times. The main thing is that the inner above the SIG isn't exposed.
The Georgia's are fab tents... we are very pleased with ours. Some express negatives with dome type tents and the footprint size, but I feel that it's worth it for the comfort and bedroom layout.
Happy camping.

It was easy to put up, had to take it down tonight as very windy and not sure if it was pitched that well for a windy night.
