Hi all

Anyone ot or had any experience with the icey tek cool box or the colemans ones?  I hate having to keep buying ice when we are away. Im just thinking of getting ne of these over an electric one!

My camping wish list is getting bigger for this season!  Had best be nicer to hubby!

ive got one last year.  Limitted experience so far, but think you'll find you will still need to top up with ice (blue ice packs or fill milk bottle with water and freeze them).  Esp. if it is in constant use as it will loose its temp. quicker.

I hope someone can give you some more positive advice than that.  Dont just take my word, as i said ive only used it once and i dont think i got it to a low enough temp. before i went.  Hoping for a better experience with it this year.   There are some very possitive testimonials on this site.  Try punching icey teck into search

We have coleman one and when we had it really cold before we went  (all the ice packs and a frozen spag bol!) it performed really well. Some of the ice packs were still frozen after 3 days!  Not so good when we did not do this but still ok. Still have to keep refreezing packs though and check how many they suggest you use.

weve swapped our electric cooler for an igloo marine ice cube bought from costco for around £30.you get a 48ltr and a small 12ltr one for the one price.last friday i put 2 1ltr frozen plastic bottles of water in to test it.i checked them on monday night and they were still half frozen, and this was even before pre chilling the box.so maybe the igloo range might be worth a look for you.hopefully it will be ok on our first break of the year at bala on 2nd may.hope this info helps.
