Since they moved out of the town centre Cheshire Leisure may have some Cabanon items at a good price. He did me a good deal on a Cabanon sun canopy last week(30 quid cheaper than list price). They were one of the few Cabanon retailers and are now based in the countryside on a farm type plot.

Just downloaded the 2008 Cabanon brochure which now states that the Aruba  has pvc coated polyester roof AND WALLS ie it is no longer a canvas tent. The inner tent is polycotton. Most other models are now synthetic 'all season polyester'. Are synthetic fabrics now viewed as superior tent fabric to traditional canvas?

Oh, what a shame, I'm glad we got our Aruba last year while it was still the canvas model.

It means mud walls; the bottom (wipeable) section of wall, not the whole thing.

No, I looked at it too it definately states in the 2008 brochure that the walls of the aruba and espace are pvc coated polyester.  The Atlantic and Pacific walls are listed as quality cotton polyester.  Unless the brochure is wrong or badly misleading.

My apologies, you are right; that is indeed what it states in the brochure.

That's odd, since the Satellite is quoted as having cotton canvas walls, yet it states the walls of the Espace and Aruba are PVC coated polyester. Strange...

I was looking at the new Satellite today, that is a cotton canvas tent. No Aruba pitched at the display I went to, so one has to wonder what it is now made of...

IMO I think Cabanon's will always hold a good price. I've just sold my Champagne for £165  not much less than what I paid for it. Last year I sold my wee Tango 4 for £125.  At the end of the day they are fantastic tents and if I were ever to go back to camping I would definately go for a Cabanon again no matter what the price was

I hope it is a typo, imagine sleeping in a completely pvc coated tent the walls would be running with condensation surely.

An Ebay auction just finished for a seventeen year old Pyramide 6. Four minutes to go and it was still on the opening bid of £80. The final and winning bid 240 seconds later was £225! MT

Hi MT.
Thought you may be watching that, Still a very good buy at 225 for that tent, The boss stopped me bidding for it but I sure would have liked it.

I reckon it might be...Norwich Camping reckon it's cotton (here).

No way would it have PVC coated walls anyway. The Biscaya is 'all season polyester' (breathable), as is the Laguna / Cancun etc. Surely if they changed the Aruba canvas it would be to a similar fabric?

The brochure also states that the Atlantic and Pacific are 'cotton polyester' (???)

Possibly Cabanon needs a new proof-reader!
