PITCHING
The olympic is pitched inner tent first. Most poles are broken during pitching or dismantling.
Make sure enough people are available to erect the tent without exerting undue stress on the
poles.
1. Ensure that the ground is free of stones and other sharp objects. You may wish to lay a
sheet of polythene on the ground to protect your inner tent. Unpack and spread the inner
tent on the ground.
2. Assemble the 6 X-Flex poles. It is essential that each pole section is fully inserted into the
adjoining metal ferrule. Failure to do so could result in premature pole damage.
3. Thread the long poles through the central sleeves on the inner tent. The shorter poles go
through the remaining sleeves above the bedroom pods.
4. In turn, starting with the diagonal poles, locate each end of the pole in its retaining pin, on the
“ring & pin” system, and then push the pole from the other end into its sleeve. This will
create the arc of the tent. Fit each pole end onto its retaining pin. Attach all the plastic clips,
on the inner tent, to their corresponding pole. Position the inner tent, close all zipped
entrances, and peg down using all the pegging points.
5. Position the flysheet over the inner tent. Secure to the tent frame using the tie tapes/velcro
provided. DO NOT EXERT TOO MUCH STRESS ON THE TIE TAPES.

WARNING
This is a large tent. It is particularly important that
care is taken when pitching and dismantling. Please
get someone to help. All guy lines must be used at
all times. Check that the tent is properly secured
before leaving it for any length of time and before
retiring to bed.

6. Close all zipped entrances, and peg down using all the pegging points on the flysheet. It is
important to maintain an equal distance between flysheet and inner tent.
7. The tent should now be guyed using all the guying points on the flysheet. Failure to
do so could result in premature failure.
