iHi file28, I hope your wife gets out of hospital soon, and manages to carry on enjoying camping in the tent. there must be plenty of sites to choose from, isn't disabled access becoming a legal requirement most places these days? I don't know if it applies to all campsites as well but the 2 sites i use have ramps to toilet and shower entrances and disabled showers and toilets big enough for wheelchairs too.
I guess that the more hilly sloping sites would be a problem, and maybe you would have to go for one with more facilities perhaps rather than the basic ones.
If you did go over to caravanning you'd still have to consider that though. how about the double height airbeds, may make it easier , though I don't know what disability your wife has. Would she be able to manage in a caravan any better than a tent? I mean getting in and out the door, the step up can be high and narrow doorway is quite awkward on some?
There are some people who camp in wheelchairs on this site I remember reading posts from someone who's wife has MS and uses a wheelchair.
I hope there will be others who will come and give you more practical adviceand support and wish you and your wife all the best.
