Hey all, I was wondering if any of you know if I can take a printout from a competitors website to the store for a pricematch or do I have to call the number?
I know the item I want is in stock and they are just down the road and don't want to order online as I'd like to have for the weekend.
I can print out the actual item listing along with the shopping cart page that shows the pricing and the shipping as well.
Some camping shops will only pricematch against other suppliers who have an actual shop as well ie they won't pricematch against internet only dealers. I think this is fair enough as we all appreciate the opportunity to see tents up, get expert advice etc and shops have to meet the costs of providing this.
Not sure what GoOutdoors policy is though, perhaps give them a ring first? MT

Thanks Merry. Their policy is to pricematch all competitors with the exeption to auctions, closeouts, liquidations, etc. So no stipulation on an actual store needed.
The competitor in question does have a store open to customers, it's just too far for us to travel to get the item for the weekend. I wouldn't worry if it was only a few quid but it's £15 difference even with the shipping added on.
Thank you, Dave. I'm going to print everything out and see what happens. I have another item I'd like to get and that could be a savings of £5 so that's nearly £20 savings.
If they don't honour it, I'll just order it and have it for the next trip.
Just give them a ring first, they will probably contact the competitor or go to their website and confirm the totals, they also include both their own and the competitors delivery charges in the overall cost.
Hi MamaBear, a few weeks back we were in our local Go Outdoors. We were after a particular product that I knew was quite a bit cheaper from a different company on-line, so I phoned my sister for the website address and to make sure it was in stock. I then gave the website address to the chap behind the counter who went off to check on their own computer. He swiftly returned saying that we could have a price match plus 10% extra off. Great service and great bargain that day! Well worth checking.
Thanks so much Sue, I thought we would be able but wasn't sure. I would phone them but I only have a pay as you go phone and I'm quite stingy with my units just in case of emergency. Plus, it's an excuse to go there anyway.
