all packed ready to go in the morning, flamborough, not going to check the weather what will be will be? i always forget something hubbys boxer shorts one year fridge converter another tin opener so what this time hope its not the kids lol.
bye
------------- my hubby says it will only take a minute (to put the tent up)lol
Last year I woke up the first morning and OH said `Want a full cooked breakfast?` Yum yum I thought, until 5 minutes later he informed me I had forgotten the frying pans
I`ve got all my lists printed off this year and am ticking things off as they are packed, so hopefully this year I won`t forget anything.
PLEASE DO NOT FORGET THE TENT have a good time i allways forget something last time it was our delts pegs and sods law we had 30-35mph gale force winds so OH had to buy expensive strong pegs from a onsite shop after 1/2 the tent fell down on me trapping me for a few hours OH is a heavy sleeper i tried waking him as i didn't know what had happened all i knew my legs were trapped OH swore at me for making a fuss and told me to go back to sleep then ha got up after 2 hours and he couldn't get out to the call of nature
Everytime we go away I forgot something - usually belonging t' t'other half (underpants, socks, wash bag, shirts - not all of them, either or). I blame him for leaving ALL the packing to me (I already have a pack for the rest of the family and organise ALL the holiday with no input from him - I don't see why he can't sort his little bit of packing out). I don't do it on purpose (honest!), but perhaps at some subconcious level I'm trying to get him to pack for himself!!!!
I dread to think what I'll forget this time - probably the gas bottle (just so long as it's NOT tent related!!!)
Brings to mind a camping trip to Fort Augustus in my early years of camping alone with my kids. Got the tent up, cooked the meal only to find out we had no plates so had to eat out of the pot. Three kids squabling over who got the most. When the next morning to buy plates and cups. Explained that I was on a camping trip but had forgoten the plates and the cups. The guy in the shop asked "oh are you with the guy who forgot the tent pegs". Well, no I remembered them. Seem some of us forget this obvious.
We always forget something when we go away, but I think there are certain things that could turn it into a complete nightmare like sleeping bags, tent or cooker and then the irritating things like the tin opener and the embarrassing mallet, means you have to go and beg one cos you wont buy one when there are 3 at home
Hi all
When you get to our age you forget were your list is. Every Item we take camping live in plastic see through containers,
See through because we never read what is wrote on the container
There is 5 large ones that go on every trip and one we take when we are using an EHU the other when we are Using 12Volt and three way fridge , We still not have succeeded in unloading them one at a time so we both know were everything as been put But with this system all we have to remember is the Tablets that keep us alive and the wash and shave gear and that is down to val
but we never forget anything now but we do have a big trailer 6'6" X 4' and we still require the back of the car for bedding, We saw one camping family arrive last year with one of these big 4X4 double cab pick up and trailer. He certainly as got it right.
Regards
Rex.
