JUST BACK FROM A CAMPING TRIP WITH MY 4 Y.O. DAUGHTER AND DECIDED TO TRY THE NEW OUTWELL KIDS ROOM TO GO WITH MY MONTANA 6 BUT IT DOES NOT FIT?

I PUT THE TENT AND CANOPY UP BY MYSELF IN LESS THAN 1 & 1/2 HOURS AND  SPENT THE NEXT THREE HOURS TRYING TO SORT OUT THE KIDS ROOM

AM I JUST THICK OR WHAT?

WHERE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO CONNECT IT TO THE TENT THERE SEEM TO BE TOGGLES ON THE KIDS ROOM WHERE THERE SHOULD BE CLIP ON CONNECTORS AND VICE VERSA? APART FROM THAT AT THE BACK OF THE KIDS ROOM THERE WERE TOGGLES TO GO THROUGH HOLES ON THE TENT. BUT NO HOLES ACTUALLY ON THE TENT?

I MANAGED TO SORT OF TIE IT ON BUT IT STILL JUST DIDN'T FIT RIGHT. IT SEEMED TOO SMALL AND THERE WAS A BIG GAP BETWEEN THE KIDS ROOM AND THE OTHER BEDROOM.MY DAUGHTER WAS GUTTED. DO YOU THINK ITS THE TENT THATS WRONG OR THE KIDS ROOM?.OR ME!!!

CAN ANYBODY HELP? I GOT THE KIDS ROOM ONLINE THIS YEAR FROM OUTDOOR MEGASTORE AND THE TENT LAST YEAR FROM CAMPING ON TYNE IN PRUDHOE. THE TENTS SUPPOSED TO BE THE 2007 VERSION WITH A S.I.G. ANY SUGGESTIONS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

hmmm..  strange one this...

the outdoor megastore website states the kids room should be fitted on the right hand side of the tent but the picture they show , it is on the left. so assuming you are trying to fit it the propper side and also the right way round, then you may have got one for a different tent , but in the montana box.

Well I would say that as the kid’s room is a new item for 2008 then there is a good chance that the 2007 tent isn’t made to be compatible with the kids room hence the reason that you were having problems

we have a 2007 vermont but its the same tent as the 2008 really but the kids tent fits ours fine with no problems.

i reckon you have a wrong size for your tent as the 2007 and 2008 monty's are the same dimentions in all aspects.

I know this may sound like a strange question but have you unzipped and rolled back half of the large inner.

You then hang the kids room up.

BASICALLY THE KIDS ROOM DOES NOT FIT THE TENT. THERE ARE CLIPS WHERE THERE SHOULD BE TOGGLES AND VICE VERSA. PLUS IN SOME PARTS THERE IS NOTHING AT ALL ON THE TENT WHERE THERE SHOULD BE EITHER A CLIP OR A CONNECTOR.

I'VE JUST FOUND OUT WHY.

OUTDOOR MEGASTORE HAVE JUST TOLD ME. ALTHOUGH THERE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE NO DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE 2007 AND 2008 VERSIONS OF THE TENT, THEY HAVE JUST FOUND OUT THAT THE DESIGN OF THE BEDROOMS HAS CHANGED SLIGHTLY. THIS MEANS THAT IF YOU HAVE A 2007 MONTANA TENT, THE KIDS BEDROOM WILL NOT FIT PROPERLY BECAUSE THEY HAVE CHANGED THE DESIGN OF THE WAY THE INNER TENT CONNECTS TO THE MAIN TENT

so.. will they give you a refund ,or are you going to persevere with it.

Don't know yet Stu. Outdoor Megastore said they had contacted the Outwell rep and were awaiting their response.That was on Sunday though and I still haven't heard, tried to chase them up yesterday but still no joy. Don't think they're messing me about though, they do seem helpfull, think theyre just waiting for Outwells response.

Im away in the tent this weekend if weathers ok so I'll see if I cant use some sort of tape and string or elastic or something to try and fashion some sort of toggles for where they should be. I'm useless with stuff like that but I'll give it a go. I'll let u know how I get on.

My first instinct was that the pod is for the 2008 model and not the 2007.  We have a Bear Lake 2007 and the kids bedroom pods won't fit that tent either.  The reason is that the 2007 model has 2 seperate sleeping pods whereas the 2008 has 2 pods but they zip together and can be opened up into 1 large pod (not the same as a divider).  Possibly the Monty has been changed in a similar way.

Must be really disappointing though
